Big Thanks to our Volunteers

During the Strategic Planning process in 2023-24, members were asked for their priorities to improve the amenities at the club. This was the catalyst behind two initiatives the Board chose to adopt during this current term.

Rink and big scoreboards

We chose to replace our deteriorating rink and big scoreboards. We were able to enjoy them albeit for a short time at the end of the home and away matches this season.  Thanks go to Bruce Hexter who led the quoting and purchase of the boards and dealt with the supplier on delivery and installation requirements.

Enormous thanks go to Man Ng, Kim Walton and Kevin O’Connor who very efficiently and ably installed the scoreboards in quick time.  The Men’s Shed with assistance from Mike Johnson also built the frame for the big scoreboards so our thanks go to Peter Elliot, President of the Men's Shed and his capable team.

Sponsor signs will start to appear soon and stencils made for North Balwyn and Visitors are on order.

LED lighting on Greens 2 and 3

The Board has contracted a company who will install LED lighting on Greens 2 and 3. It is hoped this will lead to more evening/night time social and competition bowling. The lighting will be erected on the existing light poles and work is expected to commence in 12-16 weeks.
